Lorclon Team complete  Gruelling Quest Kenmare

4th August 2023

Adventurers from the Lorclon team showcased their spirit of determination as they braved the elements during the challenging Quest Kenmare adventure race marking it as their annual Lighthouse day, dedicated to fundraising for the Lighthouse Club charity.

Quest Kenmare, a part of the Quest Adventure Race series, promised an intense 42km course through the picturesque yet rugged roads and mountains of Kenmare in County Kerry, Ireland. With 10km of running and 32km of cycling, the course demanded physical endurance and mental resilience from the participants.

However, the adventure did not come without its trials. The weather conditions proved to be exceptionally wet, even by Ireland’s standards, resulting in an added layer of challenge for the participants. Nevertheless, the Lorclon team remained undeterred, as they knew their efforts were directed towards supporting a crucial cause.

Under relentless rain and challenging terrains, the Lorclon team, consisting of Bryan Mulhern, Declan Nolan, Feidhlim Ginty, Gary Reilly, John McEwan, John Quinn, Michael O’Meara, Michael Walsh, Osama Basha, Paul Trehy, Richard O’Sullivan, and Sean Healy, demonstrated their determination and solidarity. They persevered, ensuring every member safely reached the finish line, with six of them triumphantly completing their first-ever challenge.

The team’s annual Lighthouse day serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to supporting our charity. As they crossed the finish line together, the Lorclon team celebrated not only their personal accomplishments but also the collective triumph in making a real difference to their construction community.
