We are immensely proud of the 14 members of our ‘Whittam Cox Wanderers’ team who successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks last month. Their remarkable achievement not only tested their endurance but also commitment to charitable causes as they raised a remarkable £6,662 for the Lighthouse Charity.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is no small feat, encompassing a demanding route spanning 24 miles (38.6km), with a staggering ascent of 1585 metres (5200ft) across the peaks of Pen-y-Ghen (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres), and Ingleborough (723 metres). The challenge was made even more formidable by sweltering temperatures nearing 30 degrees in Yorkshire on the day of their endeavour.
Andy Dabbs, Board Director at Whittam Cox Architects commented, “We’ve embarked on this walk numerous times, but this year held a unique significance due to the substantial number of colleagues who joined in and our commitment to supporting a mental health charity. We are absolutely thrilled to have exceeded our initial target of £5,000 by raising an impressive £6,662 for the charity. Moreover, we take pride in the fact that our efforts have not only exceeded our fundraising goals but have also increased awareness for this vital cause.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated, and a special mention to JRL Group, Cast Consultancy, Hexa Consulting Ltd, Craig Foster, and Andrew Mason.
