It was another sell out event for our Western Regional Lighthouse Club’s November Charity Lunch. Guests arrived at midday for the usual networking and meeting up with friends. We were soon packed to the rafters although numbers had been restricted to address people’s concern of Covid for the second year running. Lunch was fabulous as always with a three-course meal with soup braised feathered beef with traditional trimmings and, finally, a healthy sticky toffee pudding.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech from Alan, our Regional Chairman who also provided an update on the charity’s achievements this year. After the traditional “Head& Tails”, Mike “the Trump” Osman started off the proceedings with his interpretation of Impressions by request which was greatly received.
This was followed by the auction of various items, kindly donated from: Weaver Plant, JD Pope, Darren Broad, Double tree Hilton, Alan Waterson, Stan Boardman(Liverpool FC) and the Bath Rugby Club. The finale was delivered by Stan Boardman performing his ageless routine.
We are proud to announce that the Lunch raised approximately £10500, which adds to the £500 raised at this year’s annual spring ball. A successful year held at the Cadbury Court Double Tree Hilton. Next year’s event is already in the diary so be sure to mark it down! Same venue – 9th of November 2023.
Thank you to everyone that supported the event and to all our volunteers that work so hard to make these events a success.
