Western Branch host annual lunch at The Cadbury Club

21st November 2019

Yet another sell out for our Western Branch‘s November charity Lunch. Guests arrived at 12am for the usual networking and meeting up with friends. We were soon packed to the rafters, tables all set out and ready to go for a 1-30! Lunch was server; three-course meal with soup braised feathered beef with traditional roast and profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce.

The day started after a welcoming speech about what The Lighthouse Club has achieved this year.

Followed by a presentation of £5,500 raised by a team from Plantforce and their customers, who rode from Cheltenham Via Snowdonia then to Holyhead to catch the ferry to Dublin for the England Ireland international. The team met all their own expenses so that all the money raised went to our charity. The team from Plantforce included; Eddie Charity, Garry Baynham, Rob Berry, and Andy Single

The Second cheque of £942 was presented to us by Jerome Timbrell MD of C2 Safety, who organised a golf day through his company for our Branch.

Stan Boardman started off the proceedings with his own sense of humour and his many German jokes!

Followed by comedian Bob Webb and Nina Gilligan. This was followed by a heads and tails raffle, and auction which helped to bring in some more funds for our charity. Many members and guest stayed on late into the evening catching up on the last year.
