Tekbuild football players at tournament for Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity

Tekbuild Scores Big with Football Fundraiser

Construction firm Tekbuild swapped their hard hats for football boots recently, participating in a charity tournament organised by Business Fives. The event, which they used to raise money for our charity, proved to be a double win for Tekbuild, boosting team spirit and bringing in significant donations.

“We at Tekbuild are right fond of getting involved with local charities,” said Lucy Adams. “So, when Business Fives got in touch, everyone was raring to go and play for a good cause.”

Beyond raising money, the event had a positive impact on the Tekbuild team. “It was a fantastic day, weather permitting!” Lucy continued. “The team thoroughly enjoyed getting out of the office and having a bit of a kickabout. We even held a few practice matches beforehand, which really lifted everyone’s spirits.” The success of the event has even inspired Tekbuild to host their own monthly five-a-side tournaments, promoting teamwork and wellbeing.

The choice of football wasn’t a coincidence. “Most of our team are die-hard Middlesbrough FC fans,” explained Lucy, “so football was definitely a crowd-pleaser!”

While Tekbuild didn’t take home the top prize on the pitch, they did score a significant victory off it. “We might not have won the tournament,” Lucy chuckled, “but we did come in second place for fundraising! Raising money for the Lighthouse Charity was a massive win for us.”

The inspiration for supporting our charity came from their social media presence. “We saw their work with site operatives on Teesworks on LinkedIn,” Lucy said. “Their message was truly inspiring, and it resonated with us. We wanted to show our employees that they’re not alone – there’s help available if they’re struggling, and charities like the Lighthouse Charity are there to support them.”
