8th March 2024

Stonewood Group recently organised a cycling fundraiser that turned out to be a roaring success. The event, which saw participation from 40 riders from the Stonewood Group and their extended network, took place across picturesque landscapes of north Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. The cyclists had the option to take on either a challenging 50 or 100-mile route.

The fundraiser managed to generate an impressive sum of £4500, all of which will be donated to our charity.

CEO Matt Aitkenhead expressed his delight with the outcome, stating, “The event was a huge success. It was heartwarming to see so many individuals come together to support a worthy cause while engaging in an enjoyable yet demanding activity.”

Reflecting on the memorable moments of the event, Matt highlighted the camaraderie and sense of purpose that permeated throughout the day. “The highlight was seeing so many people gathering for a great cause and the camaraderie around the whole event,” he remarked.

The decision to organise a cycling fundraiser was inspired by the company’s desire to give back to the community while promoting physical and mental health awareness. COO Ben Lang emphasised the importance of the connection between physical and mental wellbeing, stating, “We wanted to contribute to the incredible work done by the Lighthouse Charity while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle among our employees and partners.”

The decision to support the Lighthouse Charity was made by the employees of Stonewood Group, who chose us as their partner for a two-year period. Through initiatives like this fundraising event, Stonewood Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to making a positive impact on society while fostering a sense of community among its workforce.
