Three daring adventurers from Sibbald Training, Steven, Stuart, and John M, embarked on a challenging journey up Ben Nevis as part of their fundraising efforts for charity. On the 11th of March, the trio set off on an awe-inspiring hike, conquering the highest mountain in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and the British Isles, to kickstart Sibbald Training’s 50th-anniversary charity drive.
The demanding hike, completed in 5 hours and 22 minutes, covered a distance of 15.44 kilometres and involved an elevation gain of 1345 meters. Despite the challenging terrain and cold temperatures, the three adventurers pressed on, motivated by their commitment to raising funds for a worthy cause.
For Sibbald Training, their 50th year in business is marked by a heartfelt desire to give back to the community. The Ben Nevis Hike was the first of several fundraising challenges planned throughout the year, aiming to raise as much money as possible for charity.
The climb itself was a test of endurance and perseverance. The temperature plunged below zero at the base, and as the trio made their way up, they were met with even colder conditions at the summit. Equipped with crampons, they navigated the icy terrain, rewarded by breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment upon reaching the summit.
Despite the exhilaration of the ascent, the descent proved to be equally challenging, taking a toll on their bodies. Nevertheless, they pressed on with determination, humour, and camaraderie, making it back down to ground level.
The most memorable moment for Steven, Stuart, and John M was standing triumphantly at the summit, surrounded by clear visibility and magnificent views. The summit served as a testament to their determination and dedication to the cause.
Supporting our charity was stated as a natural choice for Sibbald Training. Our charity’s commitment to providing emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families resonated deeply with the company’s charitable vision.
As part of their fundraising efforts, Sibbald Training is also running a raffle for a chance to win a 10-night holiday to South Africa. The proceeds from the raffle will be split between three charities: The Lighthouse Charity, Strathcarron Hospice, and the Special Care Baby Unit at St. John’s Hospital in Livingston.
With a charitable drive in full swing, Sibbald Training continues to inspire others to participate in meaningful endeavours, creating positive change and impact on the lives of those in need.
