Robertson Central East Kilt Walk

11th December 2024

Seven members of the Robertson Central East team recently took part in the Kilt Walk, raising over £3,000 for our charity.

The idea to participate came from Site Manager Cerdin Jones, who suggested the Kilt Walk as a great team-building activity that could also give back to the industry and local communities where Robertson operates. The team included Senior Site Managers Ben Allard and Matthew Huxley, Site Managers Cerdin Jones, Ryan Finlay, and Mhairi McIvor, Graduate Site Manager Scott Capaldi, and Quantity Surveyor Alanna Miller.

Blessed with lovely weather, the group enjoyed the day, tackling the challenge together and encouraging one another through the tougher moments. Despite a few sore feet, everyone crossed the finish line, proud of their achievement and the funds raised for a charity they deeply value.

The inspiration to support our charity came from a visit to a Robertson site, where we shared insights about our work and the fifferenbce we are making to the industry. Learning that our organisation is entirely self-funded by donations motivated the team to do their part. “The Lighthouse Charity has done a lot for Robertson Central East, supporting our staff and supply chain over the years,” said Senior Site Manager Ben Allard. “It gives us a real sense of pride to support a charity that, in turn, supports the industry we work in.”

The Robertson Central East team is already looking forward to future fundraising opportunities in the new year, building on their successful contribution to such an important cause. Their efforts reflect not only their commitment to teamwork but also their dedication to supporting the wider construction community.
