Roadbridge #5iverfor5k raises €2,500

2nd December 2020

Roadbridge recently put their best foot (and lots of other things!) forward to raise much needed funds for us as their chosen charity. Their inaugural #5iverfor5k event was a huge success and saw family, friends, pets and neighbours getting involved with travelling a distance of 5km. It didn’t matter how people achieved it, it was all about teamwork and having a bit of fun whilst raising money. From Limerick to Dublin, from London to Glasgow, we saw photos of people with babies and buggies at the top of mountains, runners, walkers and even someone in a canoe, all doing their bit for the #Fiver for 5k challenge.

Their efforts raised a huge €1,530 during the duration of the challenge and Roadbridge then kindly topped up the donation to make a magnificent €2,500.

As well as being fantastic fundraisers, Roadbridge are also proud Company Supporters of our charity and support the construction workforce both the UK and Ireland by committing to an annual pledge.

Michael Ryan, Health and Safety Manager for Roadbridge said;

“Roadbridge is delighted to partner with the Lighthouse Charity and we were privileged to pilot the Construction Industry Helpline for them in Ireland prior to the full rollout earlier in the year. We look forward to future collaborations with this fantastic charity”.

Bill Hill, our CEO added;

“It was great to see so many photos of everyone getting involved, enjoying themselves and in turn helping us to make a difference to our construction colleagues in crisis. By pledging an annual donation they are also ensuring that we have predictable and sustainable income to provide even more pro-active support to the construction community including our 24/7 construction industry helpline and app, and free wellbeing training sessions. A huge thank you goes out to the Roadbridge team for being  our Fabulous 5k Fundraisers and Fantastic Company Supporters!”
