Rebecca smashes Asics London 10k

30th July 2019

This year’s Asics London 10k took place on 21 July and saw several runners pound the London streets to raise funds for us. Here’s Randstad CPE‘s Rebecca Bernklow’s story;

“On Sunday I ran the Asics London 10K for The Lighthouse Club. This was a personal challenge as I am not a runner – and up until the day of the race I had not managed to run more that 5k…it is fair to say I was pretty nervous on race morning!

“The atmosphere was incredible; the weather was beautiful and the energy and passion from everyone around really spurred me on! I managed to run the race at a (slow) and steady pace – and I felt great when I finished!

“I was very proud to have ran for Lighthouse Club – the charity do amazing work and I know that raising funds however big or small have a big impact on what they can do!

“I am going to keep running and hope to improve my fitness and wellbeing in the process. My aim is to run the 10k next year and finish in 1 hour. I will be running for Lighthouse Club again!”

Congratulations on such a great achievement Rebecca – sounds like you’ve started a new hobby! Best of luck in the training for next year.
