The recent Property Services Golf Marathon organised by Natwest Group at the Cotswold Golf Club was a huge success. It marathon was all about bringing companies together for a real challenge and some fundraising. The charity golf marathon consisted of 72 holes, 50-60k steps up hill and down dale teeing off at 4.30am and finishing at 9pm, a real challenge for any seasoned golfer!
The weather was mixed with a bit of sunshine and then a few spots of rain, but play continued without any delays.
32 people made up 8 teams and lots of supporting colleagues were there to enjoy the fun and banter on the day too,
“This event was a huge team effort” said Natwest Lead Project Delivery Manager, Anthony Reilly, “We really wanted the industry to get together and support each other. The marathon was a huge success and we are delighted with our fundraising”.
Like the weather, the golfing ability was mixed with lots of people enjoying the rough! One particularly wayward shot even managed to get all the way to the car park! We hope there weren’t any windscreens damaged or dented car roofs!
Tricia Cunningham, Regional Lighthouse Ambassador also attended and we’ve heard that some players were even trying to blame the brightness of Tricia’s t shirt for their under par performance on the green (or should we say yellow!)!
The money is still coming in but so far the event has raised over £8000 and we’re still counting.
All in all everyone had a great day, with plenty of laughs and a fantastic atmosphere. Lots of camaraderie and the feeling of support made the day extra special and reflected the feeling of support that the Lighthouse Club offers to the construction industry.
A big thank you goes out to the organisers, participants and supporters who made the day go with a swing!
