Kirstie Murray, a committee member of our Yorkshire Region, met up with Peter Duffy from Peter Duffy Limited, who celebrated the company’s 50th anniversary last year by undertaking a series of events and raising money for five charities, including us.
They undertook a variety of events including; ‘A big Bake Off’ the overall showstopper winner was a lemon cake
Charity Golf day – it was a great afternoon with winners in categories included; Best individual score, Longest Drive, Nearest the pin and best team score. June saw the team under take the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5k run in Wakefield, Thornes Park they completed the course, which had various ‘muddy’ obstacles along the route including water baths, scramble nets, slides and even a space hopper section – all made a bit trickier by volunteers squirting extra mud and water with splurge guns.
In July the team took on the ‘Yorkshire Trek’ a strenuous 27k walk across the Yorkshire Dales, from Nidderdale to Ripley all of team Duffy completed the distance
