Earlier this year, ‘J’, a 39-year-old female Site Manager approached us seeking support for her overwhelming stress and lack of confidence. Having been employed in the construction industry for several years, she was currently working but struggling with the constant pressure of being away from home and extensive travel. Her decision to seek help was triggered by an inappropriate text message she received from a contractor, which caused her extreme stress and anxiety.
Facing the demanding nature of her role as a Site Manager, J’s mental health had deteriorated over the years, leading to a crisis point where she felt overwhelmed, exhausted, and lacked self-confidence. The inappropriate text message she received at work was the breaking point for her emotional well-being.
Having heard about us through her employer, J contacted us and was referred to counselling services aimed at helping her regain her confidence and develop coping mechanisms to manage her workload and stress. The counselling sessions focused on addressing her work-related stress, self-esteem issues, and emotional well-being.
The outcome of the sessions made a huge impact and J began to experience a positive transformation in her life. She found an immediate improvement in her confidence and self-assurance, which led to a significant achievement in her career. Within a few months, J was promoted at work and received a pay raise, a testament to her regained self-esteem and newfound resilience.
To maintain her confidence and positivity, J was encouraged to create a vision board and compile a list of positive affirmations. These tools would serve as daily reminders of her personal and professional goals.
Having made remarkable progress, we were able let J move forward independently as she expressed her intention to maintain contact with her counsellor as a resource for ongoing support.
