McGee’s support for The Lighthouse Club is longstanding and the company is delighted to announce the charity has been chosen as its Charity of the Year 2018.
To launch the partnership, McGee has dedicated the advertising space of one of their tipper trucks to The Lighthouse Club. The newly liveried truck features the charity’s distinctive purple and grey branding across its entire body and has taken to the roads of London to highlight McGee’s support for the charity, whilst raising awareness of the charity’s inspiring work.
On 1st December, McGee will join in the festivities alongside hundreds of other supporters for the annual Lighthouse Club Charity’s Christmas Lunch at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge – where the McGee Lighthouse truck will proudly be on display for all to see as they enter the venue.
The event, which is the charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year, raises vital funds to directly benefit individuals and families of those within the construction industry who are unable to work through accident, illness or injury.
Looking ahead to 2018, McGee has a number of exciting fundraising events in the pipeline, including a two-day triple challenge that will see a McGee team taking on the Snowdonia National Park – one of the most rugged landscapes in the UK. The team will be required to cycle and climb Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales and kayak a total of 36km.
Michael McGee, Director, and newly appointed Lighthouse Club Trustee, said:
“McGee has been supporting the Lighthouse Club for many years. I was therefore delighted to be asked to join the Board of Trustees. I am looking forward to working with Bill Hill and the team in 2018 to ensure that an essential lifeline continues to be offered to construction workers and their families.”
Bill Hill, Chief Executive of the Lighthouse Club said:
“We are absolutely delighted that McGee has chosen our charity for 2018 and we look forward to participating and supporting all their activities to ensure we have lots of fun and raise as much as possible to support our Construction Industry Helpline.”
