We are thrilled to announce the incredible success of the 2024 MACL Fishathon, which raised an impressive £23,195 in support of the Lighthouse Charity. Exceeding the original £20,000 target, this achievement was made possible thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, including the Anderson Foundation, whose £10,000 match funding gave the total a huge boost.
The MACL Fishathon, now in its fourth year, took place at Crowsheath Fisheries in Billericay, bringing together 30 passionate anglers for an overnight fishing event. Organised by Steve Townley, Project Manager at MACL, and Senior Site Manager Ron “Rocket” Sant, the Fishathon goes beyond fundraising – it’s an opportunity to raise awareness around wellbeing within the construction industry, helping to support those in need.
With more than £60,000 raised by the Fishathon since its inception, MACL’s commitment to improving the lives of construction workers is clear.
We want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this year’s event, including generous sponsors like Pattar Solutions Ltd, M & H Testing, DAC Contracting, Tru Earthworks, D&B Scaffolding, GM Briton, and many more. Your contributions help us continue our vital work in supporting the construction community through difficult times. A special thank you also goes to Leon from Footings & Floors for kindly supplying the event hoodies once again, making the event even more memorable.
