We got in contact with LRL Solutions to discuss the 20-mile charity hike they completed on 23rd September 2021, raising £1,500 for the Lighthouse Club. This is what they had to say:
“Arriving in Egerton (Lancashire) at 7:00am our team began to assemble for the challenge ahead. Fuelling ourselves with plenty of coffee and ensuring we had all remembered the correct provisions, we stood for our ‘before’ photo-shoot full of energy and smiles. It was a relatively mild autumn morning complete with low mist that soon disbanded as we set our Strava app to ‘begin’.
Lighthouse Club was an obvious choice for our business to support. We were shocked to read about just how many people require support within our own industry. As a close team we wanted to do all we could to raise awareness for Lighthouse and highlight the important charitable work they do, providing support to the construction workforce and their families through difficult times.
Throughout the walk we were able to bond as a team and it gave us an insight into just how important getting outside to exercise really is for our own mental health. Some of us did struggle, however, we all made a conscious effort to take into consideration the different levels of fitness across our team, ultimately finishing as one.
We are extremely proud of everyone’s efforts and dedication to the training regime prior to the challenge and we would like to extend our thanks to all those who have sponsored us and gave us the motivation to complete this challenge. Only one question remains, how can we push ourselves even further next year?!”
