Lorclon Annual Lighthouse Day 2018

2nd October 2018

Once again, the team from Lorclon chose something very challenging for their Lighthouse Day.

Gary Reilly, Project Manager sent this report fof the days’ events.

We signed up for the Achill Quest, which is a 32k Adventure Race consisting of a 1k run, 1k kayak, an 8k beach/mountain run and if that wasn’t enough finishing off with a 22k cycle ride.

The morning started bright, but by the time the team got to the start the rain had set in just to add to the challenge. The Kayaking wasn’t without incident as Declan’s Kayak sank half way through the 1k course and John and Paul’s Kayak kept going round in circles for some reason.

There were also a few incidents on the cycle but everyone finished with a smile on their face with Michael O Meara and Eugene finishing 1st and 2nd of the group with just a second between them.

All in all a highly enjoyable event in aid of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.

Thanks to the epic Lorclon team for braving the weather for us again and raising much needed funds for the charity.
