Lincolnshire & Humber host biggest ever Christmas Lunch

19th December 2019

Our Lincolnshire & Humber Club hosted another successful Christmas lunch on 6 December, with 250 bookings – 44 more bookings than 2018!

Before the entertainment got underway, everyone joined together for a delicious Christmas lunch. After lunch, the proceedings got underway, starting with the raffle for a gallon bottle of whisky kindly donated once again by Allen Turner of the Amethyst Hotel, East Halton.  Tim Brant, Club Secretary commented;

“The eyes of the winner certainly lit up when he realised he had won it!”

Chairman, Roger Hunter thanked all the 20 participating Companies for supporting the event – he recognised the hard work put in by the Committee members in organising the event.  This was followed by a surprise presentation by Charles Salmon of CLS Demolition Ltd of a cheque for £2,500 to Roger.

Entertainment by veteran Yorkshire comedian, Johnnie Casson followed with plenty of laughs forthcoming.

The Stand-Up Bingo certainly lasted well, keeping everyone on their toes.  The finale was the Auction with Committee member and Compere, Nick Borst, taking over the floor for nearly 2 hours of hectic bidding for such items as Manchester United and Liverpool FC tickets, many cuddly toys which are always popular and a wide variety of other items.

The Committee were very appreciative of many donated items for the auction and raffle by Companies and individuals.

Thank you to everyone who attended and help make the event so successful, raising £10,000 for our charity. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
