Lincolnshire Annual Christmas Lunch Raises £9,000

27th January 2025

The Lincolnshire Annual Christmas Lunch 2024, held at the Beachcomber, Cleethorpes Pearl Holiday Park, proved to be another resounding success, bringing together 227 guests for a day of laughter, generosity, and festive cheer.

The longstanding event, a staple in the region’s calendar, is cherished for reuniting old friends and raising vital funds. This year was no exception, as attendees demonstrated their goodwill and community spirit by raising an impressive £9,000 to support our construction community.

Tim Brant, Lincolnshire Secretary. reflected on the success of the event, “There’s always great satisfaction in being able to help those in need within our industry. The hard-hitting video shown during the event reminded everyone why these efforts are so important.”

The entertainment kept spirits high, with Austin Knight, the Mancunian comedian, delivering a performance filled with laughter. Guests also enjoyed a nail-biting round of Stand-up Bingo, with a £250 cash prize claimed in a thrilling finish.

Memorable moments included the raffle for a gallon bottle of whisky, which brought a smile to the lucky winner’s face. The charity auction stole the show when a huge teddy bear raised £616, later donated to a children’s hospice—a heartwarming gesture that resonated with everyone in attendance.

Roger Hunter, the Branch Chairman, closed the event by thanking the committee for their efforts, particularly Nick, the auctioneer, who led a two hour marathon auction with great success. “The hard work involved from everyone on the Committee has certainly made it all worthwhile. It’s wonderful to see our community come together to make a difference.”

A special thanks also goes to those who contributed auction items, purchased raffle tickets, and took part in the entertainment. Your involvement ensures these events not only brings festive joy but also delivers meaningful support to those who need it most.
