On November 10, the grand Clontarf Castle in Dublin played host to the prestigious Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Awards 2023, where 320 industry professionals gathered for a night of celebration, recognition, and philanthropy.
The gala ball, organised by Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Magazine, showcased the outstanding achievements of individuals and companies within the plumbing and heating sector. The event was not only a platform to honour excellence but also an opportunity to give back to the community.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of 25 winners across various categories, representing a diverse range of talent within the industry. Among the honourees was Liam Dempsey from K-Mech Mechanical, who was crowned Apprentice of the Year, marking the beginning of what promises to be a promising career in plumbing and heating.
A particularly poignant moment was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Gerry Tobin from Ideal Energy Distribution. Gerry, with a wealth of experience and contributions to the industry, graciously shared insights from his illustrious career with the 320 attendees, leaving a lasting impact on the evening.
The gala was not just about awards; it was a night of entertainment and laughter. Hosted by broadcasters Louise Duffy and Colm O’Regan, the event was infused with a lively atmosphere. Colm O’Regan, known for his comedic prowess, added a wealth of humour to the proceedings, ensuring that the guests were thoroughly entertained.
Steven Lynam, representing headline sponsor Calor, took the stage to address the audience, emphasizing the importance of supporting and recognizing excellence in the plumbing and heating industry.
However, the evening was not just about celebrating achievements within the industry; it also had a philanthropic purpose and raised €3,357 for our charity.
Karen McAvoy, Managing Director of Ireland’s Plumbing & Heating Magazine, expressed her congratulations to the winners, stating, “Our winners exemplify the professionalism, innovation, and hard work behind Ireland’s plumbing and heating industry.” She also showed gratitude to the sponsors, the independent judging panel, and all the finalists and guests for contributing to the success of the event.
