The Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC) and the Lead Contractors Association (LCA) recently hosted a successful event in Warwickshire, bringing together over 60 participants for a day of golf, clay shooting, and charitable giving. Blessed with ideal weather, attendees enjoyed a mix of friendly competition and networking, creating a vibrant atmosphere among members and associates from both organisations.
The event was organised to support our charity. “We wanted to give back to an organisation that provides invaluable support to our industry,” said the organisers. “The Lighthouse Charity was a perfect fit, and we’re proud to support their work.”
The choice of activities—golf and clay shooting—offered the ideal combination of leisure, challenge, and the opportunity to connect. One highlight was the players’ bar, where participants cooled off before enjoying a lovely inner and a lively prize-giving ceremony.
Winners included Ben Stiles, Paul Bedford, Ali White, and Michael Staff for the “Nearest the Pin” challenge, with Aaron Cole taking “Longest Drive” and “Nearest the Pin in 2.” The “Best Team” award went to Michael Staff and John White, with Simon Walker & Lewis Beck and Ben & Geoff Herbert as runners-up. Alan Barker was named “Best Individual Winner,” and Andrew Ward took home the prize for “Best Shooter.”
Reflecting on the event, the organisers said, “It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves while supporting such a worthwhile cause. We’re already looking forward to the next one.”
We want to thank both the Federation of Traditional Metal Roofing Contractors (FTMRC) and the Lead Contractors Association (LCA) for their commitment to supporting our industry and can’t wait to what they come up with in the future.
