Over 325 guests attended the 2019 Scotland East Branch annual dinner at the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh for the very successful event which helped raised over £20,000 for our charity.
Barrie Sheppard, Chairman of the branch was delighted to welcome a selection of company hosts and thank him personally for their fantastic support. He said;
“Thanks to the generous support of all our local corporate supporters, the Lighthouse Club is able to continue the incredible work that it carries out across the world, assisting fellow colleagues and their families within the construction industry when they need it most.”
Bob Dewar of Travis Perkins Edinburgh said;
“Having attended the dinner before, I decided to meet with Barrie and discuss what we as an organisation could do to help further. Once I fully understood the work that the charity does it was an easy decision to agree sponsorship for this year’s event, seeing the outstanding work that is done across the country and the positive steps that are being done to promote not just health and safety within the industry, but the great strides that they are making in promoting positive health and wellbeing, fits perfectly with the work that we at Travis Perkins are undertaking with our staff and customers. None of us can ever do enough to encourage and promote a positive working environment and culture and I believe the more we talk about it the more it will improve”.
With the branch celebrating its 40th anniversary the dinner had a special party atmosphere. 5 of the previous Chairman in attendance along with the three guest speakers it was a very full top table and a jam packed night of entertainment. As always there was plenty of fun and comradery to be had and everyone, hosts and guests, all commented on what a success it was. Once again cementing its place as the biggest and best event in the Scottish Construction industry calendar.
