CPA Golf Day Hits the Mark

4th December 2024

Earlier this year, the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) held its Annual Fundraising Golf Day at the beautiful Rutland Water Golf Course. The event saw over 30 players in 10 teams competing in friendly matches while raising for our charity.

A standout feature was the Lighthouse Charity-branded RSP Suction Excavator, brought along by Force One. The vehicle, used to promote our work on construction sites across the UK, was a striking addition to the day. Each time it is hired, Force One donates to our charity, furthering their support.

The event was made possible by generous sponsors, including headline sponsor Thomas Group, Global Crane Services (Longest Drive sponsor), and RSP UK Suction Excavators (Nearest the Pin sponsor). Many companies also entered teams, contributing to the day’s success. Special thanks also went to Ceryn Turner, Lighthouse Charity Regional Ambassador, for attending and supporting the event.

The competition included individual and team stableford formats, with prizes for the winners and standout performances. Thomas Group claimed the team prize, while Ross Webb of London Tower Cranes won the individual competition. Reece Baker of RSP UK secured the Longest Drive, and Matthew Keane of London Tower Cranes won Nearest the Pin. Winners were awarded stunning glass trophies for their achievements.

The CPA Golf Day was a fantastic mix of fun, teamwork, and generosity, with £1,500 raised. Plans are already underway for the next Golf Day, promising another great event in 2025.
