The winners of the 2018 Construction Computing Awards were announced last month at a packed Portman Hotel in Central London, and for the second year running the Lighthouse Club were delighted to be the chosen charity for the evening.
Affectionately known as “The Hammers” and now in their 13th year, the Construction Computing Awards showcase and reward the technology, tools and solutions for the effective design, construction, maintenance and modification of commercial buildings, residential and social housing and civil engineering projects of all sizes.
A fantastic evening started with a champagne reception which allowed everyone to catch up with old friends and start to make new ones. This year’s keynote was delivered by Christine Gausden RD FCIOB, a trustee of the CIOB and chair of the UK BIMAlliance BIM4FM Hub, who spoke to us about the importance of education, skills and the legacy we leave the next generation. After Christine, Bill Hill from Lighthouse Club updated everyone on how the money raised last year was spent and the release of the upcoming App, an initiative started through our involvement in last year’s awards. Over £1250 was raised for on the evening and following Bill, guests then enjoyed a superb 3-course dinner and were entertained by the very funny Patrick Monahan.
The Construction Computing Awards have become a key event for the industry to network, exchange thoughts and idea and dare we say we are looking forward to next year’s event on November 14th already!
