BUUK came together to walk equivalent of Land’s End – John O’Groats

2nd December 2020

From the 1st September to 30th September a team from BUUK collectively walked / cycled the length of the UK to raise funds for our charity.

The Team consisted of: Adele Nicholls, Alice Feavearyear, Craig Fisher, Danni Patrick, Jessy Green, Kim Lockwood, Martin Curtis, Sarah Winter and Wendy Richardson.

Having a combined 58 years’ office experience in the Construction Industry, the BUUK Construction Training Team decided it was time to give something back to those onsite. Between them, they walked / cycled 1,083 miles which is the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats in a bid to raise funds and set themselves a challenge. Not only did they achieve this with 3 days to spare, they passed this target and achieved 1,117 miles in 28 days, raising a staggering £1,400 for our charity.

A great first week was had as the team started off in glorious sunshine and bags of motivation; socially distanced team efforts were completed at the weekends and the early risers in the team managed to get in a few miles before work. Towards the end of the month when the reality of balancing work, home life and the challenge hit home it got undoubtedly got harder – especially when the heavens opened for a week! However the drive to complete the challenge did not fade as the team reminded themselves why they were completing the task and what the fundraising money could be used for.

The team would like to thank everybody for their amazing support and kind donations which really helped them achieve their goal.
