The HQR Summer Ball once again united London’s high-quality residential construction community in a night of celebration, connection, and charity. With 670 industry professionals in attendance, the evening was a chance for attendees to unwind, network, and enjoy a three-course meal alongside drinks. Entertainment was provided by the lively band Hand Fulla Soul, whose music kept the energy high throughout the night.
Since 2016, HQR London has organised this event each year to bring together the best of the industry while also raising crucial funds for charitable causes. This year, the proceeds were split between our charity and the Royal Surrey Charity Cancer Care Fund, with the night’s efforts raising an impressive £130,000—£65,000 going directly to each cause.
One of the highlights of the evening was the fundraising raffle and live auction, where guests bid generously, bringing HQR London’s total contributions to charity over the years to £825,000, with more than £430,000 specifically supporting our charity. In addition to the funds raised through the annual event, HQR London’s support includes donations from The HQR Golf Society and an online campaign during the Covid-19 shutdown that brought in £64,000. Tom McConkey, Head of Partnerships at our charity, was present at the ball, along with other representatives, to show appreciation for the ongoing support from HQR London.
Reflecting on the success of the evening, HQR London trustee Andrew Crispin noted, “Having worked in the construction industry for many decades, we’re well aware of the great work that the Lighthouse Charity does to support our workforce and colleagues in their times of need. It’s a charity close to all our hearts, and we hope to continue supporting them for many years to come.”
As the night drew to a close, guests left with both new connections and a shared pride in contributing to a cause that means so much to the community. The HQR Summer Ball continues to be a highlight on the industry’s calendar—a night to celebrate, strengthen bonds, and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
