Chris, James, and Ollie, directors and key account manager respectively, of Avolon Group, recently laced up their running shoes to participate in the Brighton Half Marathon, all in support of our charity. The trio not only completed the gruelling 13.1mile race but also managed to raise significant funds for the cause.
Months of rigorous training culminated in a remarkable performance by Chris, James, and Ollie, who crossed the finish line of the Brighton Half Marathon in impressive times.
When asked about the inspiration behind choosing the half marathon as their fundraising activity, they highlighted the event’s significance within the local community. “The Half Marathon is a great local event which attracts professional runners and amateurs alike, all raising funds for important local and national charities,” explained Chris. “The whole community in Brighton and Hove gets together and shows their support – it’s a great event every year.”
The decision to support the Lighthouse Charity was rooted in the company’s commitment to the wellbeing of construction workers, with whom they collaborate closely on a daily basis. “In such a physically and mentally demanding industry, it is vital that we all work together – as recruiters and contractors – to safeguarding the wellbeing of our workforce,” stated James. “Through supporting the vital work of the Lighthouse Charity, we’re hoping to contribute further to looking after our workers and ensuring they can reach out for support as and when they need it.”
The company’s familiarity with our charity stemmed from their relationships with some of the leading national contractors who support us. “Many of our largest clients are company supporters of the Lighthouse Charity, and we have long admired their efforts in supporting the work of the charity,” shared Ollie. “We are therefore very pleased to be in a position to play our part in raising funds for such a worthy cause.”
