On Friday, last week we celebrated the Lighthouse Midlands Curry Extravaganza, which was held at the Varanasi Restaurant in Central Birmingham. The restaurant is a spectacle of opulent surroundings spread across 3 floors. The event was attended by 120 guests and was the first of its kind hosted by the branch. The proceedings were opened by Brian Chappelhow who welcomed guests then the event followed into the traditional Indian display of drummers and Bollywood dancers. A luxurious and creative three-course feast was served to the attendees.
The branch had received many generous donations which ranged from diamond earrings worth £3000, champagne and artisan skincare products. The final fundraising total will be announced shortly. We would like to thank our sponsors – Gold sponsor M Lambe Construction, Silver sponsors Nicholas Associates Group and DWJ Harkin Ltd, and Bronze sponsor Faithful & Gould.
The afternoon finished off with a talk from Tricia Cunningham, Lighthouse Regional Ambassador, who gave an update on the work of the Lighthouse Club and the importance of the fundraising events to provide emotional, physical and wellbeing support to the construction industry.
