The Yorkshire Branch held their Spring Ball on Saturday 16th March with 130 people filling the room at the Met Hotel in Leeds.
Unfortunately the champagne reception was rudely interrupted after only 15 minutes by a fire alarm, meaning everyone was evacuated into the cold & rainy night. This meant a delay in proceedings of 45 minutes but no one complained & it will certainly be one to remember!
There were plenty of prizes with the highlight of the evening being an amazing auction of a two week holiday in a luxury seven bed roomed villa kindly donated by Eric Lidster of EJ Lidster Construction Ltd. The entertaining auctioneers sold it not only once for £1900 but twice to the under bidder for £1800, a job well done!
Tony Brook, Treasurer & Alan Wright, Chairman presented Tim Brant , National Council Member, with a donation cheque for the Benevolent Fund of an amazing £8,000.
Figures are yet to be finalised but we hope to have raised on the evening around £10,000. Sincere thanks to everyone who supported the event.
