In the very merry month of May, 24 golfers arrived at Horsforth Golf Club in anticipation of a great days competition at the inaugural Yorkshire Golf Day.
There were visitors from afar afield as Birmingham and Scotland. The weather fluctuated from hot and sweaty to wet and windy by the end of the day. However this didn't put off the winner Andy "The Basher" Howe of City Fabrications in
Bradford. He managed to amass 40 stableford points with his tried and tested method of "bash it as hard as you can and the sort it out from there!".
Horsforth Golf Club nestles close, very close to Leeds
and Bradford airport prompting one wag to say "I've never been this near to an aeroplane without my passport".
Following the evening meal the prize presentation took place which was generously sponsored by Ardent Proven Fire Prevention Systems.
The top eight players all received prizes and the worthy winner walked away with a haul of champagne, tickets to The Open, a box of Pro VI balls and of course a place in history with his name on the brand new trophy. Plans are already afoot for next years event so watch this space."
Our sincere thanks to our organiser/host David Lamin of Leibherr UK, who after 10 years of hosting of the Yorkshire Plant Executive golf days has now been adopted by the Lighthouse Charity!
