Willmott Dixon hosted an ‘All Safe’ week, which aimed to promote the importance of health and safety and they encouraged all of their subcontractors to take part....
Laura Hilton of the Cockcroft Building, University of Brighton site, a £19million refurbishment project, contacted us about raising money for the Lighthous Club during their week long promotion. Resources were provided to raise awareness of the charity and what we do.
Laura reports: “We held a series of small competitions and games throughout the week with all profits raised going to the Lighthouse Club. This culminated on the Friday when a BBQ/Hog Roast was held and Lyndsey Gallagher, a London Welfare Officer, took the time to join us, delivering a speech outlining the charities good work and drawing the lucky winners of the raffle.
“The prizes included two digital cameras, costume jewellery, heaters and a bottle of whiskey all of which had been kindly donated by our suppliers and Bill Caulfield, our Senior Build Manager”.
“We were very fortunate to also welcome Jen Deeney, Lighthouse Clubs Fundraising Ambassodor, to our site the following week to share her tragic story about the loss of her husband with our key site operatives, stressing the importance of health and safety”.
A wonderful £325.93 was raised by the team and our sincere thanks to everyone from all at the Lighthouse Club for their support!
