A team of 12 cyclists (and 1 support driver) from McNicholas, UK Power Networks, Amec Foster Wheeler and Arcadis completed their 300 mile cycle challenge from London to Amsterdam and back over the weekend of 12th- 15th May, with a grand departure from Kings Cross on the Friday morning.
Despite a heavy downpour and some wet riding, cycling in Holland was a joy; pan flat and cycle lanes separate from the roads, all the way to Amsterdam. The support vehicle was in high demand to help with a number of mechanical break downs and eight punctures in total as well as a few bio-mechanicals (aching legs) to contend with!
The team have raised over £3,645 for The Lighthouse Club construction industry charity – who provide support to construction workers who have suffered accident or illness through work. Well done to all involved!, Here’s to another trip next year (plenty of notice for those that want to start their training).
Thanks to the cyclists from McNicholas, UKPN, Amec Foster Wheeler and Arcadis for their support, we look forward to hearing all about your 2018 plans!
