Almost 200 people enjoyed a great afternoon of entertainment, good food, great company & fundraising at the East Anglia Christmas Lunch on Friday 12th December.
The drinks begun to flow at 11.30am with the call for dinner being made at 1pm. The three course lunch was a traditional ‘hearty’ one with delicious local Suffolk Dingley Dell Pork as the main event, followed by a good old favourite, treacle sponge & Custard; needless to say the plates were cleared with gusto!
Everyone was thoughly entertaintained during the afternoon, firstly by Derek Randall, former Nottingham & Engaland cricketer, with his great wit & a ‘good’ story and then by comedian Lea Roberts, whose traditional Northern humour with a modern twist went down well.
There was the usual main prize raffle, the £10 draw, along with the ‘new members’ draw for a lovely bottle of bubbly.
A donation cheque for the Lighthouse Club Benevolent Fund was presented to the Chairman, Mark Swan, by the Treasurer, Jack Chittock, for an amazing £5,000.
Sincere thanks from all the committee to everyone who supported the event and we hope to see you all again next year!
