Canary Wharf Contractors Fund (CWCF) has donated the fantastic amount of £20,000 to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. The Fund has distributed nearly £2.5 million to local and national causes since it was established in 2001.
Cormac MacCrann, Managing Director of Canary Wharf Contractors Ltd, and Chairman of the Fund said: “I am very grateful to the supporters of Canary Wharf Contractors Fund for helping us raise these significant amounts of money, enabling us to help charities close to our heart. As well as my role here at Canary Wharf Contractors Fund, my role as Chairman of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity means that the charity holds a special significance to me and to everyone who works in construction.
Bill Hill, Charity CEO said, “We have to say another huge thank you to everyone at Canary Wharf Contractors Fund for their magnificent donation of £20,000 which they make on an annual basis. This money will go a huge way towards making a difference to those in need within our industry and funding our Construction Industry Helpline. The helpline allows construction workers and their families access to a portfolio of services including emergency financial aid, advice on mental health issues and access to advice on legal, tax and debt management matters. Without this helpline, many of our construction workers would have no place to turn to in times of need so this money really will change lives.”
The money donated by Canary Wharf Contractors is in addition to the £10,000 raised on their New Year’s Eve Lighthouse Day where their site at South Bank Place meant that they were able to offer the best views in town of the world famous spectacular fireworks show.
Thank you everyone at Canary Wharf Contractors and CWCF for their fantastic donation.
