Okehampton Young Farmers raise funds in memory of Paul Fishleigh
The Lighthouse Club Charity recently helped the Fishleigh family following the loss of their beloved dad Paul Fishleigh in a tragic accident.
After the Lighthouse Club Industry Charity helped the well known family in their time of need, the club was contacted by Chairman of the Okehampton Young Farmers, Giles Heard, who kindly asked us to go along to a meeting held at Sourton Village Hall to talk about the charity’s work and history. Suzanne Furse, Welfare Officer for the South West Club received a cheque for £1,000 that the members of the Young Farmers Club had raised at various functions in the last year.
Christmas Light Extravaganza
Employees of Luke Furse Earthmoving Ltd, Tony Greenaway and his wife Sheila organise an annual Christmas Light extravaganza and this year chose the Lighthouse Club Charity as the beneficiary of their fundraising.
Susanne Furse, Welfare Officer for the South West Club had the honour of switching the lights on
with the Holsworthy Town Crier and the residents of Pyworthy Village and surrounding areas in attendance. This was followed by entertainment with a concert and a charity draw and buffet.
Father Christmas and his helper attended the concert to give presents to all the children and entertainment was provided by Lucy Bernard singing and Ben McKenzie on the piano, two very talented young people. The evening was a great success and raised £400.
Christmas Games raise £250
Nick Ager Haulage Ltd and South Molton Transport Ltd raised £250 at their Christmas party by playing Red card, yellow card and Irish bingo.
Well done everyone!!
