Viviane Williams and Eve Okuniewski from the Brick Development Association seized the challenge to run in the British 10k London Run. The race route is through the heart of central London passing the capitals world famous landmarks.
Viviane has sent us this report about their training and how it all went on the day.
“At the Brick Development Association, we felt fortunate to be able to run the Vitality 10k on behalf of the Lighthouse Club, a cause which is so closely associated with our aims as the trade association for the brick manufacturing industry.
The aims of the Lighthouse Club have never been so relevant in the current construction climate. As a team, we really felt that the Lighthouse Club was the perfect charity to complete this challenge for.
It was fantastic to find a great training plan which we followed pretty well! We often trained together during our lunch hour to make the most of our beautiful central London office surroundings, and running is always easier to do with someone else!
On the day of the 10k, we had a fantastic time and very much enjoyed the hugely positive atmosphere of being on a course with over 13,000 other runners! Completing the course in 1 hour and 19 minutes was a significant achievement for both of us. Between us we raised £1255 and are so happy and grateful for the generosity of our friends, families and colleagues to this amazing cause.”
Well done to Viv and Eve for rising to the challenge. If you’d like to sign up for next year’s event visit www.lighthouseclub.org/events
