Chairman Tom Coffey and his team stage one major even each year: The Lighthouse Club West of Ireland
Golf Tournament is held every year on the Thursday and Friday in the week after Easter,
thus it is very much a 'moveable feast'! But invariably it is the first major golfing event
in the Lighthouse Club's calender.
This two day event, held on the Thursday and Friday at Athenry Golf Club, Galway, attracts teams
from far and wide, including vistors from the U.K. They will vouch for a weekend of great
golf, spectacular countryside, and welcoming friends.

There was the usual great turn out at Galway’s Athenry course for the branch’s 9th annual golf tournament on 20-21st April. The 65 teams enjoyed two magnificent days and played in brilliant sunshine on a beautifuly prepared course.

Scoring was high and the team of Michael Glynn (PVC) Limited stole the honours with a total of 97 points, just one point ahead of second place Briarhill Carpentry Ltd.
Chairman Tom Coffey’s team put a lot of hard work into this event and the result was very satisfying, with teams already looking to another two great days at Athenry on 12-13th April 2007!
Thanks are due to all the companies who have sponsored teams and or tees and greens in this event over the last 9 years and Tom and his team look forward to seeing them again at next year’s event.
