Sportsman’s Lunch brings good crowd
Here’s just one group of our 200 members and guests who had a great time at the Saints Stadium!
Our ‘Sportsman’s Lunch’, held in the dining room of Southampton F.C.’s stadium earlier this month attracted a good crowd of over 200 members and their guests. Mike Osman was our excellent M.C. who kept things moving along nicely throughout what turned out to be an extended lunch. Top table guest Tony Green, from our National Council, didn’t get away until 5.30!

Our guest speaker, former Bath, England and Lions prop forward Gareth Chilcott, was great fun. He kept everybody enthralled with his often hilarious but all very interesting inside stories of the rumbustious goings on he encountered in the strange world of rugby front rows and touring parties.
‘A word in your ear’ From one genial gent to another!
During what was a very genial afternoon, our Tony Green commented that the atmosphere of sheer good will and camaraderie was the perfect illustration of what the Lighthouse Club is all about. As usual the generosity of the guys was superb, with over £7,000 being raised for our Fund.
