Branch News
A two hundred-plus crowd of members and guests, including a contingent from Dublin, our
administrator Jane Lowry, and Chairman of Council Don Baldry, gathered at the Europa Hotel
on April 8th for the Branch Annual Dinner.

The short speeches which came from Branch Chairman Mervyn Logan and Don Baldry were applauded for their brevity
since they allowed more time for Gene Fitzpatrick. Gene is well known, in Northern Ireland, he has a seemingly
limitless fund of jokes and a way with his audience that ensures their full attention. A classic act which had
his audience convulsed with merriment.
Formal proceedings were rounded off by the presentation, by Chairman Mervyn Logan, of Northan Ireland's
contribution of £8,000 to our fund.
Informal proceedings continued elsewhere in the Europa, and saw the bar busy until well into the early hours.
Another successful event, marking Northern Ireland's 42nd. year.
