The People Who Run It

The Club’s President: Ian Henderson CBE BSc FRICS

Ian is Non-Executive Director of Liberty International and he retains an interest in the British Property Federation, where he was President in 2002. Other responsibilities include: Chairman of the New West End Company Ltd, Vice Chairman of the Board of Management of Central & Cecil Housing Trust, membership of the President’s Committee of London First, Commissioner of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and Chairman of the Development Trust for the Renewal of the Buildings of St Martin-in-the-Fields. He has recently been appointed a Trustee of the Natural History Museum and a Council Member of the Royal Albert Hall.
All of the Club's Officers either work from home or use their workplace facilities and so the Club doesn't need a great deal of office space. The Lighthouse Club's office is located in Ipswich, adjacent to the Old Town's medieval North Gate. We occupy the upper floor, two rooms.

Ancient they may be, but the two rooms are comfortable, they meet the Club's needs, and are home, during office hours, to our Administrator Jane Lowry.

At our 2006 AGM Martin Roddy, who served as our overseas liason officer for over 10 years, stood down in favour of Les Leslie.
Les is a ‘frequent flier’ between Heathrow and Hong Kong and travells extensively throughout the Asia/Pacific region. He is secretary to the Club’s Asia/Pacific steering committee and is therefore ideally suited to act as the link man between us here in the U.K. and Ireland and our fellow members overseas.
